Dog-Gone Good Treats For Pups Who Mind Their P's & Q's Q P's Treats came about one day when giving my dog Quincy some treats, I noticed the list of ingredients. As I read down the list I couldn't help but wonder, just what is animal digest? As I read further I pondered the same about beef by-products. I counted three different artificial colors and was stumped, the treats were just a beige color. Then, were almost as many chemical preservatives as there were ingredients! I became concerned and decided that maybe the best way I could take care of Quincys' need for some tasty treats while not filling him up with a bunch of strange sounding additives would be to make his dog treats myself. I found some recipes and made them, but Quincy was not too eager to eat them. He would leave most of them on the floor and walk away, looking very disgusted. I wasn't about to quit though, I was willing to experiment until I came up with healthy treats that my beloved pup would enjoy. It took many efforts, but finally I had come up with a few varieties that Quincy not only approved of, but that he sat by the oven waiting for! For special occasions, I would share his treats with friends who had pets. Soon, many friends were requesting more and then came the suggestions that I should share Quincys' treats with anyone who wished to give their dogs healthy treats, with human quality ingredients. I resisted, until Percy joined our family. Percy is a huge fan of treats and since I was making treats so often, and adding more varieties that this was the time to offer them to the masses!
